Inspired by nature, the table was originally design for show in the University of Louisiana’s sustainable home entry, the table was deemed to artistic for the home competition and replaced with a flat version of the table. The table was meant to provide a tactile feast for those dining at it.
The table first debuted at ICFF in 2012 where it was received and publicized internationally. In 2018 the design will show at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. As with other design, I began to explore with size and materials, earning a commission form a patron to create the coffee table.

Blue Mahoe Coffee Table – Austin, Tx
This table is made from Mahoe, (Talipariti elatum) which is sustainably grown and harvested in Puerto Rico. Established in 1983, Tropic Ventures Rainforest Enrichment and Sustainable Forestry Project is a demonstration project for those interested in the sustainable management and preservation of tropical rainforest land. The project was purchased and is on display at the Shopbot Tools Headquarters in NC.
